Day 196

A lecture on poverty and some U grades like 12/100 for Mathematics and 26/100 for China Studies in English later:

Normally, I hate the word "loser". Using it to define someone makes me cringe, but I still do it sometimes...... Or, all the time. (Habits are hard to break.) Although, I've realised and accepted that the world actually NEEDS losers. How else would we define the winners? Whose heads would we use as stepping stones to Greatness? Now I admire the mindset of the unambitious, with no plans or visions whatsoever for the future. We need losers to continue to get nothing done, not comb their hair, put things off, acquire and spread STDs, not answer phone calls, not return phone calls, smoke too much pot, and lean against walls because it will make rising to the top so much easier for the people (aka us) who have hopes and goals.

Some people just weren't born with a built- in passion or drive, and that's ok.

If all else fails and your life starts to derail; your dreams start to combust in your face (ouch); your love life is on the rocks; in short, you've become a photographer/fashion designer/performer who can't afford Huggies for your own baby cause you forgot the mess our parents made of the economy and found out that your mom is the only person in the world who appreciates your 'work'; you can always work part- time at Starbucks. (They pay $5.50 per hour, if you want to calculate now how many hours you're going to have to clock in.) They even have a health plan. I don't recommend this, but it's important to be aware of ALL your life's options.

However, if you have dreams and want to avoid being a potential loser or even just a loser in training, spend some time figuring out what your contribution and purpose to the world could be so that you can find that unique gift/talent and bring that to the table of life. More importantly, apply to the right college and make sure you get accepted into it.

You may never meet anyone else as lazy and underachieving as I am- unless you've already met my ex boyfriends- but I love you, care for you, only want the best for you, and I totally mean it when I say it. College is a lot like mascara. It will only make your life better.
